Train Car & Seating
Are the seats reserved, or are there any free seats?
All seats aboard this train are reserved. There are no free seats.
Can I choose my seat?
Our company will assign the seats, so you cannot choose your seat.
Will I be seated together with another customer?
If you make a reservation through our site in advance, there is no shared seating.
However, you may have shared seating if you purchase a same-day ticket for the "Taste the Region Brunch Travel", sold at the Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station ticket counter.
If the reservation is made through a travel agent, this may change depending on the travel agent’s rules.
Please contact the agency to confirm.
Is there a smoking area available?
Our train is a completely non-smoking environment. As such, there is no smoking area available.
Is there a bathroom on the train?
There is a multi-purpose toilet in Car No. 1, and a general-use toilet in Car No. 3. Both can be used by men and women.
Is there wheelchair access?
Yes, there is wheelchair access. However, these seats are limited, so please specify when making your travel application.
Is there a place where I can store a stroller or luggage?
Space within the train is limited, so there is not enough space for storage of strollers and luggage. Please refrain from bringing large luggage items on the train that you cannot keep in your possession.
Can I travel with my pet?
Please refrain from bringing pets on board. However, customers may travel with assistance dogs (guide dogs, service dogs, hearing assistance dogs).
Application & Payment
How do I make a travel application?
Applications are accepted through the Reservation Page on our site.
In addition to purchasing through the reservation page on our website, you can purchase same-day ticket for the "Taste the Region Brunch Travel" only at the Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station ticket counter. (From 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM. While supplies last.)
From when can I make a reservation? Up to how many days in advance can I apply?
Applications are accepted on the first of the month from 10 AM, two months before the operation date, until 5 PM, 7 days before the operation date.
You can purchase same-day tickets for the "Taste the Region Brunch Travel" only at the Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station ticket counter. (Available: 8:00 AM – 9:15 AM. Same-day reservations not available by telephone. While supplies last.)
Can I ride without a reservation?
All seats on this train are reserved seats. Passengers cannot ride without a reservation.
Is there a plan for riding only (no meal service)?
There are no riding-only plans.
Can I ride as a single passenger?
Single passengers may ride the train.
Can children 6 years old and under participate?
Children 6 years old and under may participate, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Please note that there are no children’s fares, so they will be charged the same amount as adults (there are also no child-oriented meals). Please seat infants and toddlers on the lap of their parent or guardian.
How do I make payment?
Reservations made through our site can be settled online by credit card, or at a convenience store. For convenience store settlement, please complete the payment before midnight, two days after the date of application. If payment is not made within the time period, the reservation will be handled as a cancellation.
I don’t have access to a computer or cell phone, how can I make an application?
Please contact the Nishitetsu Customer Center at 0570-00-1010, or 092-303-3333.
What if I don’t receive the reservation complete email or the convenience store settlement email?
The email may have been filtered into your spam folder based on your device’s settings (cell phone, PC, etc.). If the email is not in your spam folder, please be sure to contact the Nishitetsu Customer Center at 0570-00-1010, or 092-303-3333.
How will I get my boarding ticket?
The boarding ticket and usage information will be sent up to 5 days before the boarding date to the email address the customer specified at the time of application. This email will serve as the boarding ticket, so please store it carefully. On the day of boarding, please print out the email and present it at the manned ticket gate.
What should I do if I accidentally erase the boarding ticket email?
Please contact the Nishitetsu Customer Center at 0570-00-1010, or 092-303-3333.
Do you issue receipts?
If you would like a receipt, please specify as such in the “Comments” column when making your application. Please also include the name the receipt will be addressed to, as well as any other details. A staff member will give you the receipt on the boarding date.
Can I board or get off at one of the stations along the course?
Embarking and disembarking at stations other than the departure station and arrival station is not possible while on the "A Taste of the Region -DAZAIFU BRUNCH-".For the "Local food lunch trip" or "Local food & sake trip" course, disembarking at Yanagawa Station will result in cancellation of the travel, and for the “Taste the Region Dinner Travel” course, you may board from Yanagawa Station (start of the travel). For travel cancellations, you will not be able to board again. Also, please note that we will not refund any fare differences for customers who wish to board or disembark at the station during the operation (travel start or cancellation). If you wish to board or disembark at Yanagawa Station, please inform us as such when making your reservation on our site.
Food & Drink
What is included in the course meals?

Is there anything else other than the course menu?
Alcoholic drinks (beer, sake, shochu, wine, fruit liquor, and original cocktails) and non-alcoholic drinks are available. You can also order individual dishes.
How are fees for items outside of the course menu settled?
Fees for drinks that are not included in the course menu will be settled within the train.
Do you have kids’meals?
We do not offer any kids meals. We will provide the same menu content as for the adults.
Are you able to respond to food allergies??
Please refer to our food allergen list on this website beforehand. Please note that even if you have an allergy to one of the food ingredients listed, we will not be able to make changes to the menu.
Can I bring outside food and drink to the train?
Please refrain from bringing outside food and drink to the train.
Changes & Cancellations
I want to change the boarding date or my course. What should I do?
If you would like to make a change to the reservation date or the course, you will need to cancel your reservation and make a new one. Please note that specified cancellation fees may apply.
How do I make a cancellation?
Cancellations can be made on this site’s Reservation Confirmation page. Your reservation number will be necessary for the cancellation, so please confirm with the email that was sent at the time the reservation was completed. Please note that specified cancellation fees may apply.
When do cancellation fees go into effect?
Cancellation fees are as follows

※The email that the company will send to the customer 5 days prior to the travel date, course name, seat reservation number, etc., serves as the boarding ticket.

If I cancel, when do I get my refund?
For cancellations where settlement was concluded by credit card, the refund will be made in accordance with the sponsored company’s card membership agreement. For other cases, the refund shall be made within 30 days starting from the day after the refund date, by bank transfer.
Other
On the day I ride the train, where should I go and at what time?

Whichever course you choose, come to the platform of the station where your course starts at least 10 minutes before departure.
Arrival times for trains on each course are as follows:

  • ・Taste the Region Brunch Travel: Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station at 9:32 AM.
  • ・Taste the Region Lunch Travel: Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station at 11:32 AM.
  • ・Taste the Region Dinner Travel: Omuta Station at 2:14 PM. (The train stays stopped at Omuta Station after lunch until it departs for dinner).
What should I do if I have a question or concern on the boarding date?

What happens if there is a natural disaster or accident?
In the event of a natural disaster or accident, if operation becomes difficult, the operation will be suspended. In this even, part or all of the travel fees will be refunded.
Is there a waiting room?
The Rail Kitchen Chikugo does not have its own waiting room.
Is it possible to rent out the train?
The train may be rented out for corporate or individual usage. Please contact the Nishitetsu Customer Center at 0570-00-1010, or 092-303-3333.
Regarding “THE RAIL KITCHEN CHIKUGO: Limited One-Day Ticket”
What is “THE RAIL KITCHEN CHIKUGO: Limited One-Day Ticket”?
It is a ticket exclusive to a passenger who purchases “Taste the Region Lunch Travel” or “Taste the Region Dinner Travel” (※ except “Taste the Region Brunch Travel”) that enables the passenger to get on and off freely at all stations of Tenjin Omuta Line, Dazaifu Line and Amagi Line only available on boarding day.
The ticket fares are 550 yen for an adult and 280 yen for a child (tax included).
How can I purchase the ticket?
Sold at station ticket counters (except unmanned stations).
Please fill in a purchase application form of “THE RAIL KITCHEN CHIKUGO: Limited One-Day Ticket” available at the station ticket counter prior to your purchase.
The reservation number and the name of the person in charge stated on the ticket of “THE RAIL KITCHEK CHIKUGO” will be required at the time of the purchase.
Where can I purchase the ticket?
Available at station ticket counters and manned ticket gates.
Please get a “Boarding Station Certificate” placed at each unmanned station and purchase the ticket at the first station where you get off the train.
How can I purchase the ticket, if I reserve through a travel agency?
Please state the name of your travel agency together with other necessary information in the purchase application form prior to your purchase.
If you reserve through a travel agency, the reservation number won’t be required to state in the form.
Can I get refund?
No refund after the trip starts. Also any balance adjustments with other ticket(s) purchased by other means won’t be refundable.
